Cavity Resonance Absorbers (MR21 Series)

Reduce Cavity Resonance.
Restore RF Performance.

MR21 Series cavity resonance absorbers are engineered to suppress standing waves and lowerQ-factor inside metallic enclosures operating from 1 to 40 GHz. By reducing resonant electromagnetic energy at its source, MR21 materials improve shielding effectiveness, stabilizeRF performance, and eliminate cavity-induced interference without redesigning the enclosure.

MR21 Series · Overview

Engineered for High-Frequency Enclosures Where Resonance Matters

Metallic enclosures naturally create resonant cavities that amplify RF energy at predictable frequencies. Left untreated, these resonances can reduce shielding effectiveness, increase emissions, and introduce unpredictable system behavior.

MR21 cavity resonance absorbers are engineered to damp unwanted electromagnetic energy directly inside the enclosure, reducing Q-factor and restoring stable RF performance across applications from laboratory test equipment to aerospace and defense electronics.

COMMON APPLICATIONS
Shielded electronic enclosures
Microwave cavities
RF test fixtures and calibration equipment
High-frequency communications electronics
Systems susceptible to standing-wave resonance

How It Works

Suppress Resonance Before It Becomes Interference

When enclosure dimensions correspond to multiples of a signal wavelength, standing electromagnetic waves develop inside the cavity. These resonances amplify RF energy, degrade shielding performance, and create unpredictable interference.

MR21 materials introduce controlled RF loss along conductive enclosure surfaces. The absorber converts unwanted electromagnetic energy into low-level heat, lowering cavity Q-factor, reducing standing waves, and restoring stable RF operation without requiring enclosure redesign.
